The Whakatāne Sportsfishing club is positioned at 2 Muriwai Drive Whakatāne on the picturesque Whakatāne river with stunning views out to the Whakatāne Heads.

Not only do we boast the best views in Whakatāne but we also have some of the best facilities in town. With two bars, pool room, the widest wide screen in Whakatāne, separate dining and conference rooms and some say the best restaurant in Whakatane, the Whakatāne Sportfishing club is unmatched in Whakatāne.

We have something for everyone from fishing tournaments, Club Nights on Wednesday and Friday nights where you can have loads of fun with meat raffles, pool table, and loads of other fun activities. Of course chilling out with the family and friends enjoying club priced drinks and eating from the hottest restaurant in Whakatane is also a great option! 4000 members can’t be wrong!

Skippers Restaurant is our very own in house restaurant. Whether it’s turning out amazing food from our Al-a-carte menu 7 days a week or catering for corporate events and private functions we have an option for all catering requirements. Skippers Restaurant is fast becoming the place to eat in Whakatane with superb quality food at club prices. We have had feedback that we are not only the best restaurant in Whakatane but also the busiest! Bookings are recommended.

The Whakatane Sportfishing Club has Whakatane’s finest conference and private function facilities. The Anchorage Room is upstairs with a balcony that overlooks the beautiful Whakatane River. It can accommodate 50 people inside and in the warmer months an additional 50 people on the balcony. The Anchorage room has comfortable furnishings, TV monitors and whiteboard for presentations and its own private bar! Unmatched quality, stunning views at affordable prices – what a combination!
