HODGSON Roderick Andrew (Bill) — On Thursday morning 9th May 2024.
Our darling Dad, Bill, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, uncle, neighbour, colleague and friend died peacefully at home. He has gone to be in the warm welcoming arms of his beloved wife Clare.
So loved father and father-in-law of Nicki & John, Andy & Rats, Pete, Will & Michelle.
Wonderful Grandpa to Jim & Courtney, Rose, Cal & Carraldo, Bill & Ana, Clare and Hugh.
Special, and honoured, Great Grandpa to Mosey, Daisy, Spike, Georgia and Wally.
Just shy of 93 he lived a full and adventurous life. Opotiki Bill, pragmatic engineer and problem solver – with a kind heart, great love of his family, classical music, the mountains his garden and Polly his dog.
Our family are grateful to the carers who tended Dad (and Mum) so well. Lee-Anne (for over 30 years), Toke, Mikara, Georga, Amy and Kimberley too! We thank Broadway Medical Centre, Roslyn Pharmacy, Gerard Prendergast, The Home Team, The Otago Hospice, Dennis, Aki, Shane and everyone who helped keep Dad at home as he wanted. Barefoot on the back lawn – smelling his roses! 
A service for Bill will be held in St John’s Roslyn Anglican Church, 373 Highgate, Kaikorai, Dunedin on Monday, July 1 at 10am, followed by burial at West Taieri cemetery.
