Letters: Sense in politics at last

.

Suzanne Williams

I have just re-read David Hick’s letter (Beacon, October 2), re: a referendum on the outstanding issues concerning us all for inclusion with the voting papers at the General Election – excellent idea, and practically costless, as he says.

It strikes me that this is the sort of thinking “outside the square” that is coming from the Opportunities Party and definitely should be part of their newly formed and changeable policy. They are seeking to hit the middle ground and are advocating for a sensible approach.

How about it, David? Present your thoughts to them at their Think Tank and stand for Parliament next time round as an OP candidate.

I have not heard a peep out of their existing candidate this election aside from an innocuous statement in the Beacon ahead of a meet-the-candidates event.
