Transferring a fair and unbiased philosophy to the garden, I fed everything with a good fertiliser. The fuchsias, begonias, ferns, geraniums –absolutely marvellous.
Even the camellia and rhododendron look good.
Ooh, the gardenias.
Once full of buds with lovely green leaves, now the yellow leaves are falling, and the new growth is coming out yellow as well.
If I had given the gardenias what they needed to thrive, even though the camellia and rhododendron are looking good, would that make me a “speciest”?
