Veterans’ Affairs is taking its support services on the road this month, with events in the Bay of Plenty to help veterans access information and assistance.

All serving and former New Zealand Defence Force personnel are invited to attend events at Lion Foundation Centre (3 Court), Baypark Stadium, Mt Maunganui on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

Head of Veterans’ Affairs Alexander Brunt said the events provided an opportunity for veterans to meet with staff, discuss their current or future support needs, learn about their entitlements, and make changes to the support they or their whānau receive.

“We know it can be difficult for some people to attend events during the day because of work or other commitments.That’s why we’re once again offering an evening session the night before the main event,” said Brunt.

There will be an evening session from 7pm on Tuesday for those that can’t make it during the day.

The main event will run from 10am to 2pm, on Wednesday.

Veterans will be able to speak with Veterans’ Affairs staff and representatives from a range of veteran support and community organisations.
