Moving to Dawn Parade in 2019 we were told the area was Coastlands. Wanting to do some excavations on Lysaght Development land on Keepa Road, I rang [the late] Ian Lysaght and after pleasantries the conversation went like this.

“Can I dump some clean fill on your land?”

“Where will it be coming from? “

“Dawn Parade, Coastlands.”

“Dawn Parade is not in Coastlands, it’s in Piripai.”

Enough clarification for me.

I support the movement for areas to keep their historical names.

This will be doubly important should the development at the eastern end of Bunyan Road, Piripai, go ahead and be called something like Riverside.
