Edgecumbe families are in for a treat this weekend with a new community event bringing free Easter fun, creativity and connection to Riverslea Mall.
Easter in Edgecumbe takes place at the mall on Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
The free event will feature a range of family friendly activities designed to bring the community together, including an Easter colouring competition for children aged three to 12, with entries displayed throughout the mall; a fun kids’ dress-up competition with roaming judges; a visit from the Easter Bunny, and a variety of stalls and interactive experiences.
Nine food vendors will be on site, creating a relaxed picnic-style setting.
Families are encouraged to bring a picnic mat, set up in the park beside Riverslea Mall, and enjoy a day of food, entertainment, and community connection.
Event organiser Chris Ford said the vision was simple – to create something meaningful and memorable for families.
“We wanted to create something special for our community – something free, fun, and full of connection.
“It’s about bringing people together, supporting local businesses, and giving kids something exciting to be part of.”
The event also aims to bring energy into Riverslea Mall while showcasing the importance of supporting local businesses.
“When families come along, they’re not just enjoying a great day out – they’re also helping support the small businesses that are at the heart of our community.”
The event has been made possible thanks to the support and collaboration of Cusack Partners and Riverslea Mall.
It is sponsored by Beulah Services, Beulah Concrete, and Able Precast Solutions, with additional support from Fonterra.
With strong local backing and a focus on fun, creativity, and connection, the organisers hope Easter in Edgecumbe will become an annual tradition.
