Non-profit HeArtspace has opened a boutique-style extension beside its Commerce Street op shop, combining pre-loved fashion with art and creativity.

The new space features a curated selection of $5 pre-loved designer clothing and accessories, and doubles as a free gallery where artists can exhibit and sell their work, with 100 percent of sales going directly to the creator.

HeArtspace owner-operator Jade Adams says the expansion reflects the organisation’s commitment to sustainability and accessibility.

“I am passionate about pre-loved clothing, sustainability and slow fashion.

“Creating your own unique style with second-hand items reduces waste and makes designer items affordable.

“We want to encourage people to make second-hand their first choice,” she said.

The space features artwork by artists Abigail Bakker, Pop Herewini, Artlight Makes, Suelo, Lemuria, and handmade gift boxes by Mary Pierce.

Donations of pre-loved designer clothing and accessories in good condition are welcome.

The extension opened on Wednesday, providing a new spot to explore affordable fashion, art and handmade goods under one roof.
