Letter: Time for achievement wrap-up

.

J Beattie

Victor Luca's reply to Bec Mackay in last week’s Beacon was what I've come to expect from the mayor – lecturing, long-winded and condescending.

He ended by saying that if she wanted to know what he had been doing, she should have made an appointment to see him.

The mayor gets to write a regular column in the Beacon, so he can keep us in the know.

Ms Mackay shouldn't need an appointment to find out what the mayor has been doing.

Instead, he uses it to write at length about everything except his job. I think the reason why people were getting annoyed with his climate change sermons was not because they don't care. They just wanted to hear what he is doing about it instead of his usual doom and gloom.

We're not students in his lecture hall. We are his employers. It's time for him to report on what he has achieved in the past three years.
