Letter: No ‘rights’ are being removed

.

Matt Bullen

I'll try to kill two birds with one stone.
First, I'd like to compliment Keith Melville's letter on Friday last.

Geez Keith, no wonder it's called the "Looney Left!"

Secondly, in response to Margery Rennie, who, perhaps unwittingly, seems a fan of Lenore Craig,

Did you read your own correspondence? Correct me if I'm reading this wrong, are you suggesting that only the “dropkicks” would vote Labour and the Greens?

Your final paragraph, and I quote: "The overturning of Labour's legislation, which enabled registration and voting right up to election day, is a cynical attempt to manipulate the election result."

One must then surely assume that when the Labour government of 2020 changed the electoral law to allow this, they must also be guilty of the crime.
Yet the silence was deafening, where's the outrage? You've got three years to make sure you are on the roll; it's not that hard.

No “rights” are being removed, anyone who cares enough to vote will care enough to make sure they can.
