I see the Beacon’s usual gaggle of left-wing letter writers have been at their self-righteous best lately, working themselves into a lather at a perceived loss of rights.
One cause of the outrage is the proposed loss of voting rights for those who have been locked away for seriously denying others of their rights.
Another cause of outrage is a tightening of the voting rules by cancelling voting day registration to prevent people from hampering the election process.
The solution to the first outrage is simply to respect the law of the land and the rights of others, and you will retain the right to vote.
In the second instance, you won’t be denied the right to vote if you register to vote before election day. Simple.
Left-wingers tend to pee blood at any perceived attack on human rights, but will totally ignore the importance of responsible citizenship and individual responsibility.
