John Morin Creative is hosting its fifth student photography exhibition at Whakatāne’s newest gallery space.

Titled Depth of Field, the exhibition will be held on Sunday from 10am to 2pm at The Framer on The Strand. It is open to the public and admission is free.

The exhibition showcases the final projects from the latest cohort of students in John Morin’s Digital Photography for Beginners course.

Digital Photography for Beginners is an eight-week course that covers the basics of photography, including manual settings, composition, storytelling, and more.

The students who will be exhibiting are Ria Brosnan, Mya Leonard, and Te Aorere Mansell.

Morin said the exhibitions were a great way to bring the community together to discuss art and storytelling in meaningful ways.

“They also lower the barrier for budding photographers to showcase their work, which boosts their confidence and makes exhibiting less daunting and more accessible.”
