Once again, Ōhope produced two beautifully sunny days for the women who attended the Ōhope Bowling Club’s Xceda Finance Ladies Paradise Open 4s tournament on May 6 and 7.

There were 32 teams of four entered, with players travelling from Whangarei, the Hawke’s Bay, Auckland, Waikato, Poverty Bay, and the Bay of Plenty.

After day one, three teams had four wins from four games, with many others having notched up three wins from the four games.

On day two another three games were played, with some nail-biting finishes for some teams as the champions were determined.

Ngongotaha’s Wendy Green, Lynette McIntosh, Mina Paul and Huia Ratana took top honours and were the only team to win all seven games.

In second place were Adrienne Tilyard, Jenny Welch, Sheryl Brownlee and Jan Larsen from Buckland Bowling Club (Pukekohe).
