Letter: Lucky to live in town where people care for one another

I WISH to convey my heartfelt thanks to the staff of New World supermarket for their assistance in finding my car last week.

I, (an elderly pensioner with a wonky knee) had walked up and down The Strand and around the New World car park with no result after forgetting where I had parked it.

The first staff member went all around the carpark again with no result. Meanwhile, I was given a cup of coffee and invited to sit inside by other members of staff.

Finally, the manager and another staff member went right down to the other end of The Strand and came back with my car.

We are so lucky to live in a town where people care for and help one another and I feel this was an overwhelming example of this.

So a huge thank you to New World, you are the best.
