Radio 1XX and The Comm’s Easter egg hunt annual was extremely well attended this year.

Promotions manager Keziah Barlow said 400 chocolate bunnies were given out on the day.

“It’s the biggest turnout we’ve ever had,” she said.

“We had beautiful weather, it was such a stunning day, we were really lucky.”

Children were buzzing with anticipation, arriving from 9.30am for a 10.30am start.

She said the sausage sizzle sold out within half an hour.

Julzz Watson from Chic Face Paint was kept busy transforming the faces of hundreds of children.

“She got through them so quickly, she was awesome,” Ms Barlow said.

The Comm provided spot prizes for best dressed, with children sporting costumes from spacemen to unicorns to the classic easter bunny get up.

Prizes were also given out for being kind, when children who had already found an egg helped others to find one.

Next up for One Double X is Reading with LJ Dobbin at the Whakatāne Library on Thursday next week at 11am.
