Ōpōtiki take Neeley Log

.

Ōpōtiki Squash Club successfully challenged Te Puke Squash Club for the Neeley Log earlier this month.

The Neeley Log is the Ranfurly Shield of Bay of Plenty squash, which originated from Don and Dale Neeley from the Whakatāne Squash Club in the early 1970s. Te Puke has held the shield since June 2021.

Seventeen club players took the court playing 31 matches. It came down to the last match to decide the tie, which was won by Ōpōtiki. This is the first time the club has won the challenge.

The next challenger is Geyser City Squash, with matches to be held next month.
