It may surprise Matt Bullen, (Coalition doing great job, Beacon letters, March 14) and others, but being burned by a meat pie is not a new phenomenon.
Some 25 years ago, I think it was, a young boy was badly scalded by the contents of a meat pie when he bit into it. He had bought it at his school tuck shop.
That story got wide coverage in the news media at the time.
But I take Mr Bullen’s point, there would be no need for school lunches if children would just pick functional and empathetic families to be born into.
