We, the people of Whakatāne, were told that clear signage in the libary for the various departments and large alphabetical lettering would be up and running by December.

The library staff I approached last week were very helpful and friendly, as always, but have no idea of this eventuality.

What’s holding this up?

Has it even been passed as a given? If so, how rude not to explain the delay.

Our library is a warm, welcoming place, much appreciated and valued.

My two cataract operations haven’t helped me and I still require reading glasses and the use of a mobility walker.

I have also written to our Mayor Victor Luca, who does a marvellous job.
