Carol Camburn, regarding your letter (Beacon, February 7), I’m a cyclist that rides from Whakatāne to Ōhope often.
I have a very large bell on my bike and my biggest problem is walkers with ear pods in, or those big headphones.
I can get right up to them and yell after I have let rip with my bell and they don’t move. Most are just walking along right in the middle of the shared walkways or walking two or three abreast, plus a dog, not following the keep to the left rule.
So if we all enjoy getting out and about (and keep to the left), we can enjoy our lovely town.
