When three local wahine couldn’t find the perfect space to work, collaborate and connect in their community, they decided to create it themselves.
Enter Boon Collective, a vibrant, community-driven co-working and multi-use office space located in the heart of Whakatāne’s CBD.
This purpose-built space is now open on Boon Street, ready to serve professionals, creatives and small teams in need of a welcoming, inclusive and dynamic environment.
“We couldn’t find what we needed, so we built it,” said Casey Assink, one of Boon Collective’s founders and the owner of Meadow Club.
“Boon Collective is about more than just commercial space – it’s about fostering creativity, inclusivity and connection in our community.”
The other two women behind Boon Collective are Nikita Price (Keets & You) and Adria Green (Grahn Creative).
Together they bring their collective experiences in running successful businesses across a range of industries including retail, events, marketing and business administration.
Boon Collective’s journey began with a shared vision: to create a space that was as inclusive as it was inspiring, as professional as it was welcoming.
The result is a co-working hub that combines functionality with great vibes.
Offering a collaborative co-working space for freelancers and small teams, several private offices and a spacious boardroom facility ideal for meetings, conferences and workshops – there are plans to host community-driven events such as workshops, networking opportunities and social gatherings.
“We want Boon Collective to be more than a workplace – we want it to be a second home for professionals in our community,” said Ms Price.
“This is a space where people can focus on their work, build relationships and grow their ideas.”
Boon Collective invites the Whakatāne community to experience firsthand what makes Boon Collective more than just a commercial space – it’s a space to create, connect and collaborate.
“There’s been some hard mahi breathing new life into the space, and now our doors are open – we can’t wait to welcome you,” said Ms Green.
“This is a space where ideas come to life, and everyone has a seat at the table.”
Boon Collective has several events and workshops planned for 2025, including a celebration on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2025.
