As four new Eastern Bay recruits begin training at Police College this week, Whakatāne police are turning their attention to their next group of future colleagues.
Senior Sergeant Cam MacKinnon said police were always looking for new police officers.
“I send out an invite to all people within our community who are interested in a challenging but rewarding career, who want to help keep our fellow citizens safe from harm, to look at joining the New Zealand Police.
“For any information, please contact Senior Constable Rob Jones here at the Whakatāne station.
“He is our recruiting officer. Come into the station and ask for him; if he’s not here, leave your contact details and he will get in touch with you.
“We’re busy attending, reporting, investigating and resolving crime, but we also need the humans to do it.”
