A group of enthusiastic crafters, known as Simply Handmade, is marking its 10th anniversary as a co-operative with a special market day tomorrow, celebrating a decade of creativity and community.
Simply Handmade is a collective of Eastern Bay artisans, showcasing their handcrafted goods at a shop located next to the former Red Barn Cafe, on Thornton Road, just outside of town.
“We have the work of over 50 local people in our shop,” said long-serving member Kris Kennett.
“There is amazing talent here.”
To celebrate their milestone, Simply Handmade is hosting a market day at the Red Barn venue, featuring 35 stalls filled with a wide array of handmade goods.
The market will be open from 9am to 2pm and promises something for everyone, from indoor and outdoor plants to candles, pickles, preserves, crocheted toys, art prints, macrame, children’s clothing, jewellery, leather bags, and much more.
Visitors can also enjoy a sausage sizzle, home-baked treats, coffee, and ice cream. There will also be a fun-filled children’s colouring competition and the playground will be available to keep the little ones entertained.
With ample parking available, the event promises to be a great day out for the whole family.
