Uzabus Eastern Bay says it is investigating following incidents on the school bus from Edgecumbe into Whakatāne which have impacted a bus driver.

Parents have raised concerns on social media that some students have been vaping, yelling, standing up, swearing and back-chatting and this behaviour led to a bus driver not being on duty yesterday.

Uzabus Eastern Bay manager Justin Holland-Goodwin told the Beacon Uzabus was talking to the schools in Whakatāne and at present did not have the “full story” nor “complete names of students”.

“It is under investigation,” he said.
