LOCALS and visitors are invited to a free community open day at the new-look Riverside Whakatāne Holiday Park.

The park will open to the public from 11am to 1pm on Sunday, offering a variety of activities.

The event aims to highlight the significant improvements and positive changes that have been implemented within Riverside.

Whakatāne District Council manager properties and facilities assets Paul Check said the open day was a great opportunity for locals and visitors to discover this hidden gem in their own backyard.

“Over the past few years, we’ve been chipping away at some neat changes to lift the profile of Riverside.

“We’re really looking forward to opening our gates to locals and visitors alike and showcasing the park’s new features, such as our studio cabins and premium units.

“We hope that after experiencing all the park has to offer, you’ll share the news with others and help spread the word about this fantastic local spot.”

Mr Check encourages everyone to come along to the free event and experience the improvements first-hand.

“Many locals aren’t aware of the hidden gem we have right here in central Whakatāne.

“This open day is a fantastic opportunity for the community to check out the wonderful amenities available at Riverside Whakatāne Holiday Park.

“Bring the kids for a swim in the pool, let them enjoy the jumping pillow, pedal karts and volleyball court, and explore the new enhancements.”

Radio 1XX will be broadcasting live from the event, with a complimentary barbecue and the dunking machine will be open for use.
