IN your October 4 edition, you repeated concerns that some district councillors had concerns about young children using the Boon Street public toilets due to the presence of “homeless people”.

Am I to assume that the very state of being homeless suddenly makes the person some kind of sexual deviant?

Personally, I consider it to be an inexcusable insult.

It indicates to me an absolute disconnect between our elected officials and I might add “unelected” representatives with the rank and file of the district.

As a footnote, when was it the council’s brief to provide toilets on call?

Have the owners of the farmers market not heard of portaloo’s?
