VILLAINY and intrigue were the name of the game at the Nukuhou North Settlers Hall for the past two weekends.

A murder mystery dinner party fundraiser held on September 21 and 28 has raised more than $4000 for the community hall, with the funds to be put towards a refurbishment of the hall toilets and addition of a wheelchair accessible ramp.

The events were well received by patrons, who enjoyed a three course meal, a range of raffles and competitions, and a live drama played by local actors, while the audience worked to uncover the mystery of who killed Dracula.

Vengeful Villains playwright, director, costumer, and organiser extraordinaire Jenn Rouse said she was pleased the murder mystery nights had gone so well and it was great to see the local community coming out to support the hall.

She and the hall committee wanted especially to thank the many volunteer cooks, servers, and actors who had made the fundraiser a roaring success.

The fundraiser was also supported by the Beacon Community Assist Fund.
