ŌPŌTIKI District Council’s administrator for the Creative Communities Scheme, Mercedes Neems, is encouraging locals with a creative idea to get their applications in now, before this year’s round of funding closes next week.
The scheme, funded by Creative New Zealand and administered by individual district and city councils, provides funding to help bring creative visions to life and keep local arts thriving.
“Funding is available each year and it’s a great way for local artists to get the financial help they may need to bring their art to life. It doesn’t matter if its dance, art, drama, literature, music, seminars, workshops or cultural events. They all may be eligible for funding,” Ms Neems said.
Applications close on Thursday, October 10 for projects starting from October 18.
Application forms, criteria and guides are available on council’s website www.odc.govt.nz/ccs.
