Letter: Nowhere to park outside store

I WOULD like to take this opportunity to apologise to the owner of Church Street Four Square.

After a busy day at work, I wanted to stop at the Four Square and run in for one item.

But to my surprise, I was not able to park in front of your store as I have always done for the past 17 years. If I had known, I could have parked at the corner in front of the 100% Appliance Store, but I proceeded to my usual parking spots. Unfortunately, the closest park further up the street was past Paper Plus, so I continued down the street, all the way to Four Square St John Street and parked right in front.

I bet Ōpōtiki District Council has not considered how its new rock decorations affect consumer behaviour and people’s livelihood, such as the Church Street Four Square Owner.

It’s been nice, and I’ve appreciated the valuable customer service from you and your staff, but will end up taking all my business to the St John Street store where I can continue to get in and out in a Pit Stop fashion.

A bit of advice, I think you should plead for a rate deduction.
