NORTHERN Districts Cricket is hosting a muster day at Rex Morpeth Park in Whakatāne on Saturday between 12pm and 2pm.

This is an opportunity for primary and secondary-age children along with adults to receive information about playing cricket this season.

Anyone who lives in the Eastern Bay and wants to be involved in cricket this season is invited to attend.

The Eastern Bay of Plenty Cricket is the only cricket club in the area.

Although based in Whakatāne, it draws its membership from Ōpōtiki to Kawerau and everywhere in between.

The club was established in 2019 and in 2023 had six junior, one collegiate and two senior teams, alongside junior and senior representative teams.

Last season was an immense season for the club with the largest cohort of players to date and the club winning its second senior grade competition following its inaugural win in 2022.
