Hospice EBOP’s newest fundraiser is in full gear and the public and businesses are being encouraged to jump on board for the ride.
For a small sponsorship to hospice, individuals and businesses have their name or logo inscribed on the door of a hospice vehicle, where the names will remain for six months.
The response had been overwhelming, hospice communications and fundraising assistant Lydia Tulip said.
“With this fundraiser, we’re hoping to raise up to $40,000 and also at the same time, honour our sponsors as Hospice Heroes.”
Ms Tulip said the fundraiser had been more poignant than initially anticipated.
“We’ve had people adding names of loved ones who have passed, beloved pets, people they miss that live overseas or far away.
“We’re so lucky to be privy to the heartwarming stories that come while the forms are being filled out.”
There are many ways you can get your name or logo on the car, the easiest by filling out the form on the website www.hospiceebop.org/drivingbigchanges or catch chief executive Bryce Sheedy at one of the talks he gives around town, where he will have a table and forms ready to be filled in.
Look out for hospice at weekend markets (to be announced on hospice Facebook page) and at street appeals.
Orange Motor Co based at The Hub were among the companies to get involved in the fundraiser.
