ALLANDALE Primary School raised $7000 along with fun and smiles at their first colour run.

The annual Education Outside the Classroom fundraiser will assist students with costs towards two camps later in the year.

Middle school team leader Mamta Naik said there was a great response to the activity.

“Lots of kids were happy and smiling; many said it was ‘the best day ever’ and asked to have it every term,” she said.

“We know it was successful because our kids loved it, which is what we cared about.”

Students will attend overnight camps that will include kayaking, paddle boarding, rafting, beach safety, bush cooking, first air and safety, rock climbing, seafood gathering and archery.

The next fundraiser will be run later this year by years 5 and 6.
